Now instead of just screenshots we can see some things in action.
I just finished some illustrations. One of them kept making Tinet laugh so I decided to create a small document of this.

Visited a wonderful open air Zoo just outside Berlin. The main focus of our visit was to see pigs of various breeds. The image above is the back of a wild boar.

A selection of the recently revived, Hungarian bred Mangalitza. Here is a detail of one of three females.

Not related to this and drawn before my interest in swine is this.
Recently received two requests for possible installation projects. One in Brooklyn, New York and another in Brno, Czech. Rep.
The first request came from my very talented friend David Last who recently announced via facebook that he and some friends are starting a gallery.
I replied to him with the following:
1- If this would be an inclusion a group show this is pretty simple. I can just fill a portion of a wall in the gallery with drawings. Framed or just straight up tacked on with tiny pins. Implementation can vary.
2 – If this is a two person show and there is enough room then it could be some drawings and then above them, that is, above where people stand and look at the drawings there will be a series of semi-transparent screens suspended from the ceiling. The screens would hang perpendicular to the wall with the drawings. There would be a projector from each end.
I would project these loops (scroll down to see them).
Each side would always use a different loop from the other and in this way a different type of composition could be seen from the resulting two projections pointed at each other. The scale of the image through each screen would provide a variety of things depending on how it is viewed.
3 – The above idea could be expanded provided there is more space. Some sound for the line animations, something soft but engaging, could be added.
Would need to see some photos of the space to get a better idea of what might work.
His reply was enthusiastic and he will present these ideas to the curatorial board.
The second request was from VJ Kolouch. His unique illustrations bring together the esthetics of the vector and pixel worlds with understated, stark efficiency. I met him when we invited him to the 2008 edition of the Mapping Festival.
Having received this request only yesterday I have not responded to it yet.

A higlight for me doing visuals for Venetian Snares for this years Electron Festival in Geneva, Switzerland. Evidently it was revealed to me afterward by him that he could not hear what he was doing. That appeared to matter little to the electrified crowd and consequently to myself. I was ‘really feeling it’ and the video document produced by the festival reflects the overall impression that I had from participating in it.
A few years ago I performed at MUTEK. The overall experience of that festival for me was very underwhelming. I recall meeting one of the oragnizers from Club Transmediale and I mentioned to him that I will be spending some time in Geneva in the future. His response was ‘its a really boring place.’ I am probably comparing apples to oranges by saying that the last edition of CTM was as exciting as my experience at MUTEK.
I grabbed these stills from the video because I have no other documentation of this moment.

Last Friday I committed myself to a bit of fun in doing an installation for the Bleep Street party at NBI in Berlin. Was not required to VJ and I really enjoy the visuals that Raquel Meyers makes. Thought it would be a pity to have a good party where there was only one screen so I put my time and effort into this and then shot a lot of pretty pictures.

One of the shots of Computadora struck me with its faceless presence and inspired me to give it one. After posting it he made it his as well.

It must be noted that Computadora’s set was a genuine club sound. If it were in the Zoo in Geneva at the right time of the night he would have had the crowd. This is one of the advantages of Geneva in that the Zoo is one of the few places in town for this kind of thing whereas in Berlin there is heavy competition.
The rest of the photos can be seen here.

I really enjoy the simple approach. He also has an interesting sensibility of how to connect the image with the sound. Somtimes just getting quiet you create more clearly.
