I decided to work with one color.

Slightly nicely this one went loose all over. Reigned in fun it resolved to be pleasant with time.

One of my long time friends, even before we both started making live visuals is Chika Iijima, aka Visualicious, aka Chiklet, aka CHiKA. One of the things that I admire about her the most is her ‘can do’ spirit. She puts stuff together and somehow it always works. She has the keys to the land of simplicity.
Her choice of collaborators is quite to my liking as well. Her most frequent is Bubblyfish, an extremely talented composer who produces some of the most distinctive sounds to come out of a GameBoy. One of the fruits of this collaboration is on display here.

Another frequently active collaborator is i8u, aka France Jobin who has recently been making some waves in the (truly) minimal electronic world with her 10-33cm. One of CHiKA earliest works that left a very strong impression on me was Infinity. Comprised of dots and circles mixed in modul8 I was startled her ability to match sonic poetry of i8u’s creation.
In the very near future CHiKA and i8u will be spending a week long residency at the Experimental Television Center to produce some new work. The center has a amassed an extensive amount of video processing hardware of the years. It will be exciting to see what these two will come up with in their time there.
Another experiment in color. I used highlighter markers. Not very archival. But I like how light they are on the paper. I always found so called ‘magic’ markers to be too heavy on certain types of paper. I made this drawing in the summer of 2007 and have not played around with the highlighters since. I am trying to find something else to work with that is archival that possess the same qualities.

This is the last of these. I decided to post the remainder hence the rapid posting. Some more variety to follow.
